I did everything I thought I was supposed to do. I did everything I thought I was supposed to do. Got the degree. Built the career. Earned the salary. On paper, I was successful. For me, the answer wasn’t throwing it all away. It was using everything I’d learned to build something different. That’s eventually what led me to career coaching—and work that felt meaningful, flexible, and much more aligned with the life I actually wanted. Sometimes success isn’t climbing higher. Becoming a mom changed what I wanted from my caree Becoming a mom changed what I wanted from my career. It didn’t make me less ambitious. I still wanted meaningful work. I still wanted to make great money. I still wanted to grow and make an impact. I just wanted something else too: More control over my time.
