Who inspires you?
My grandmother has always been my biggest inspiration. She ran newspapers in Asia and dedicated her life to helping women by providing them with access to useful information. She passed away when I was a teenager, and that’s when I made a promise to carry out her legacy.
What’s your typical day like?
One of the greatest parts about being an entrepreneur is that no two days are the same! I spend some days brainstorming with the team on how we can make our “impossible” goals possible. Other days I’m meeting with members of our advisory board and think tank – who range from the Founder of Match.com to the Co-founder of The Malala Fund – to discuss ways in which Mogul can grow and develop new partnerships. In hopes to inspire others, I’m often traveling to speak at various conferences and events to share my story and give advice to those who’re thinking about starting their own businesses.
What advice would you give to your 20-25 year old self?
Have confidence! You have to be your biggest cheerleader and always believe in your vision and ideas.
What motivates you to work hard?
Knowing that I have a responsibility to maintain and grow the best possible platform for the 18 million women that Mogul reaches each week. I regularly receive letters from users saying how Mogul motivates them to be more successful. They tell us that their sales have increased by using the “Products” feature or that the courses have inspired them to pursue a new career path. It’s humbling and definitely keeps me inspired!
What is your all-time favorite book?
To Kill A Mockingbird.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Paris, France.
What is your favorite restaurant/food?
Vietnamese.
What was your first job?
French Tutor while I was in high school.
What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend?
Spend time with family and friends, supporting their initiatives and events. Thinking about the future of Mogul.
