Planner Ideas: 3 Plans You Need For More Focus
If you are struggling to find more energy and focus, putting together a great plan can really help. Many people get frustrated when they have a lot of planner ideas but then things have to change a few weeks in. I believe that your plans can change but your dreams won’t change so don’t get disappointed if things change and don’t go according to plan.
Also remember that things don’t have to be perfect. Just do your best. Take those baby steps. Take imperfect action and those 15 minutes will add up.
Before I tell you the 3 types of plans you need, let’s review the PLAN Success Path. Whether you are just getting or have been a planner for years, this success path will help you see where you are at now and what you need to do next.

THE PLAN SUCCESS PATH

PHASE 0
You hate planning. You aren’t focused and feel unorganized. You are stressed and feel like there is not enough time in the day to get your goals done. You aren’t reaching your goals because you don’t even have them written them down. You are just trying to survive and have little time for personal goals and self-care.
PHASE 1
You are just taking baby steps forward. You miss some weeks and days but you are determined not to give up. You sort of know where you want to go in the future but it’s pretty fuzzy and vague. You need help staying on top of your plans and figuring out what step you need to take first. You aren’t quite sure what goals you should set or how to create your plan.
PHASE 2
You are starting to gain momentum and see how all the pieces of the planner fit together. You are taking consistent action and baby steps and starting to get some wins. You are starting to get into a planning routine down and making habits that make you happier and more organized.

PHASE 3
You have a habit of filling out your planner daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly. You feel on top of your goals and you are starting to reach your goals and dreams. You have more time and freedom now. You know your planning system works and that you can accomplish anything you want. Life feels easier. You have more peace and joy. You are living your dream life. The planner is part of your routine and you can’t leave home without your planner.
PHASE 4
You’ve reached your goals in life but know there is more impact that you can make. You have a tendency to just stay here because it’s easy and you know more work, delegation and dreaming is required to take it to the next level. You know you have more potential for income and more potential to make more of an impact. You also know you could even have more fulfillment. You know you need to set an example for your community and dream bigger.
PHASE 5
Your plans and goals impact the world and change lives. You have built a team around helping you make your mission happen. Your plans are bigger than just you. You never could have dreamed of the impact and income you are making with your life and you are so grateful for all of the opportunities you have. You are leaving a legacy with your goals and plans and are so thankful you started.
What phase are you in?
Now that you are feeling comfortable with where you are at in the PLAN Success Path, let’s dive into the 3 plans you need for more focus and energy. You can download all three of these planning templates in my free 90-day planner.

Planner Ideas: 3 Plans You Need For More Focus

1. Vision Plan
You create a vision plan to make sure you are headed in the right direction.
You might not know what you want to have in the future, and that’s totally okay. This step will help you organize all of your planner ideas and create the future you really want.
Think about the general feeling that you want to create in the future. You don’t have to know in 5 to 10 years exactly what you want. That’s totally okay. It doesn’t need to be super detailed, but you should know some general feelings that you want to create.
What is your life going to look like when you achieve your goal in the next 5 to 10 years? You should create a new vision plan every 90 days.
2. Annual Plan
You create an annual plan to identify what areas you will focus on to reach your goals.
The first time creating your annual plan is always the hardest. It gets easier as you do it again and again. Next time you create your 90 day plan, you’ll have a much better idea of what to focus on.
The most important thing here is that you identify your top 3 priorities for the year.
If this is the first time doing the annual plan, you may find this hard so just go back to your vision journal and pick 3 of the things you want to create to work on this year.
Ask yourself, where do I want to be in 5 years in my career, business and life? What’s the first step to get there? Today’s task is about figuring out your three main career or business goals for the year. Only three things you want to have done.
You should create a new annual plan every 90 days.
3. 90-Day Plan
You create a 90-Day Plan to break down your goals into smaller tasks and choose one thing to focus on when it all seems to be important.
The difference between the annual plan and the 90 day plan is the annual plan is high level. It is your main priorities. There should be no tasks or details on your annual plan. That’s what we save for the 90 day plan.
The 90 day plan is when we get very specific and actions and tasks and all the details that we need to do over the next 90 days. With your 90-day plan, you’ll set deadlines and specific goals that you want to reach for 30, 60 and 90 days.
You should create a new 90-day plan every 90 days.
