Build a Profitable Business Assessment

The purpose of the profitable business assessment is all about self-reflection and market research. What we’re trying to do in this part of the assessment is get a sense for your passion, desire to solve a problem or master a subject, and your market’s willingness to spend money on the subject.

Problem

Don’t make this about you. It’s not about providing a product you think YOU think your market needs. It might help you to think about services you pay for right now that solve your problems that you couldn’t live without.
1. Will people pay for you to solve their problem?
2. Have you tested your idea on your ideal market?
3. Have you analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of your competition?
4. Have you sold a “beta” version of your product or service yet?
5. Have you researched the pricing and offerings of your competitors to see what could be done better?
Remember, it’s not about what you want. It’s what your clients and customers want and need. This doesn’t take that long, in Corporate Rescue Plan we will discuss how to research your competitors and how to launch a beta version of your product or service and get up and running fast.

Payment

In order to start and grow a business, you have to be crystal clear how your business will make money and that your clients will pay for it. This is as simple as testing it.
And you don’t need a ton of money or time to get started. I have several clients who have launched their businesses and websites with very little investment while still working their day jobs.

People

You want to know who your ideal client is. You want to know his or her needs and frustrations, goals and desires. I want you to visualize your ideal client. Name this person and write a whole paragraph about him or her and make them real. If you have already had clients in your business, this might be a real person that you visualize before you write an email or blog post.
1. Is there a large market for your product or service?
2. Do you know your ideal client avatar?
3. Are you in forums and communities with your ideal client?
4. Do you have a community to support you to build your business?
5. Do you have a list of current and future hiring needs?

Often times, this means starting with one market and spending a lot of time in the community really learning as much as you can about that market and how you can help them.
Facebook groups are an excellent place to do this! I ask questions and poll my ideal clients in my own and other Facebook groups on a daily basis to really learn as much as I can about my target market. This is an ongoing process that I do on a daily basis and this serves as the basis for new products, services or blog articles that I create.
The other good news is that once you have this client avatar and you know what your ideal client’s frustrations and desires are, selling won’t even feel like selling.

Passion

Your story and passion will add to your brand no matter what you are selling, whether it’s a product or service. Your clients want to know, like and trust you and your company. That’s who they are buying from. So if they can see your passion shine through in what you are selling.
1. Are you passionate about your business idea?
2. Do you know why you want to start and grow a business?
3. Are you excited about the future vision of your business?
4. Will your business idea help you get closer to you living your ideal workday?
5. Do you know your strengths and interests? Do you know what you do best?
This doesn’t take that long. In fact, in Corporate Rescue Plan we will discuss how to design the right business for you and how to create the purpose and mission statement for your business so it is directly in line with your goals, dreams and strengths.
There are a lot of unhappy business owners out there running businesses that don’t fit them. I don’t want you to be one of them.

Conclusion:

Remember, the Profitable Business Assessment is just a tool. If your score is low, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll never be able to launch a profitable business. It may just mean that you’ll need to use a different strategy to get going.
Likewise, if you got a good score, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll succeed. But the odds of success are definitely in your favor.
Now that you’re clear about whether your business will be profitable the BIG question is, how do you GROW, how do you create a structured plan to design, build and scale a business and what numbers should you pay attention to in order to know if you business will succeed.
How do you attract clients and have them stay?
Hands down, this is the most important key to anyone’s growth as an entrepreneur. If you can’t get organized, develop a plan and achieve your goal of getting your business off the ground, then you’ll continue to experience the overwhelm and frustration of running your business with no direction and not enough sales or clients.
Corporate Rescue Plan is opening again on June 19th. We hope you’ll join our e-learning platform and membership community so that you can grow your own profitable business!
