Lara is an award-winning climate change educator with over a decade of experience and more than a million stakeholders reached. Aside from being a career coach, she creates learning experiences, primarily for youth and teachers, to empower people in understanding climate change and taking climate action.
Her approach is grounded on hope-based communications, constructivist learning theory, and systems thinking, while acknowledging individual lived realities and complicated climate emotions. She worked with the Philippine Department of Education, Asian Development Bank, UNICEF, and UNDP among others. She completed a Master of Environment and Sustainability with Distinction at Monash University (Australia Awards Scholarship) and Bachelor in Secondary Education major in Social Sciences Cum Laude at the Philippine Normal University.
She is a NAAEE Environmental Educator 30 Under 30 Class of 2025, ASEAN Youth Fellow 2024, Climate Reality Leader, and a Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Exchange Alumni. She’s also a content creator: @lara.on.earth.
