I did everything I thought I was supposed to do. I did everything I thought I was supposed to do. Got the degree. Built the career. Earned the salary. On paper, I was successful. For me, the answer wasn’t throwing it all away. It was using everything I’d learned to build something different. Becoming a mom changed what I wanted from my caree Becoming a mom changed what I wanted from my career. It didn’t make me less ambitious. I still wanted meaningful work. I still wanted to make great money. I still wanted to grow and make an impact. I just wanted something else too: More control over my time.
