What helped me the best was to be realistic. I was often so stressed when I was not falling asleep right away, or if I was waking up in the middle of the night, that the stress was actually causing me to not sleep!
Now I know that some nights are going to be good, others not, and sometimes I will be in lack of a few hours of sleep and that’s ok, I will take time later to rest. (instead of over stressing about it and trying to control my sleep).
