My friend reminded me of something the other day. I have been sharing a lot on social media that I have a career I love now which makes me super happy BUT I need to make sure I don’t forget about those days that I was really, really stuck, just like some of you are. It’s easy to block that part of my life out because those days were so hard.
I dreaded going to work every morning. I put on a fake face and pretended I was enjoying what I did, but deep down inside I just knew that there was something missing. I knew there was something bigger that I was supposed to be doing. I was so stressed and burnt out and my life was just being run by my work.
I was taking work home on nights and weekends. I was missing out on friends and family. I was too busy working at a job I hated to even start thinking about making a transition. It was even impacting my health and it took a very hard rock bottom of winding up in an emergency room for me to finally make the vow to myself that I WOULD quit my job someday.
So please be encouraged by my story. There is an end in sight. Just keep hustling and working your butt off and it will pay off. I promise!
