Mistake #2: Wasting Time on Activities That Don’t Work
You are making this mistake if you are doing tasks that are comfortable so you are really busy. You feel like you are making progress because you are busy but you aren’t actually really moving forward towards your dream career goals.
You are in “The Treadmill trap” if you are busy so it feels like you are moving forward BUT you are not being efficient or productive.
You are going for a run but you are never going to get to your destination. You are doing tasks that aren’t going to get you to the result you want. This is when work-life balance is IMPOSSIBLE. You are going to burn out. You are going to reach the breaking point of “something’s gotta change!”
What happens if you keep making this mistake and how did you get here?
You got here because it’s easier to feel busy doing easy tasks. It’s harder to commit. It’s hard to work past mindset blocks and actually commit to your goals and dreams. You may be making this mistake because you are listening to people who don’t support you or are confusing you even more with the wrong tasks! It’s not easy to go for it and do the right things because sometimes the right things are a little uncomfortable and scary.
By staying on the treadmill and making this mistake, you are going to stay stuck. You are going to stay overwhelmed and confused doing repetitive tasks and be overworked, bored and stressed. You might have trouble sleeping and anxiety on Sundays. You’ll think, when will it be my turn? I’m working so hard! You might give up or not be taking great care of yourself.
You’ll think you don’t have time to go for your dreams, but you really DO have the time…you are just doing the wrong tasks.
So…what does it feel like to NOT make this mistake and finally work on the RIGHT tasks?
When you stop making this mistake and actually work on the right tasks, you’ll feel like you are on fire making so much progress. You’ll build momentum checking things off because you are focusing on the right tasks. You’ll start that dream business or get that dream job offer. You’ll have more freedom and more time for your passions and priorities.
Mistake #3 is assuming you’ll figure it out eventually.
You are making this mistake if you don’t really have a plan. You’re thinking, “I’ll work on that next year” and don’t make it a priority. You are waiting for opportunities to come to you and are procrastinating.
You are waiting. Not taking action.
You think you can figure it out yourself. But you never put your dream career goal on your calendar. You aren’t giving it 100%.
Why are you doing this?
It’s easier to take care of others and worry about others instead of working on your own goals. You are making this mistake because you have a lot of hope about what is possible for you, BUT you don’t want to put in the work because let’s face it, it’s a little risky and scary right?
What happens if you keep making this mistake?
You are losing out on job opportunities and dream clients. Someone else is getting that dream job. Not you. Someone else is getting that client. Not you. You’ll continue to stay stuck and miss opportunities.
Instead, when you stop making that mistake of just assuming you’ll figure it out eventually and procrastinating and when you take action on your goals, you’ll actually reach your goals.
The bottom line is this: You can 10x your results by identifying your ideal career or business and creating a plan. You CAN create a six figure business or get your dream job and dream salary.
