Here’s how anxious working women are for a break according to Wakefield Research: more than 1 in 4 (26%) have purposely scheduled a business trip just to have time to themselves away from home. And, more than two-thirds (67%) admit that sometimes they like when their significant other goes on a business trip – so they can have time to themselves.
From early-morning wake-up calls to late night catch-up work, it’s no secret that today’s Classy Career Girl is always going – and going and going. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t need a break once in a while, right? Consider this: 39% of working women feel that achieving work-life balance is so hard, that it would be easier to score a date with Bradley Cooper, according to a new survey by Wakefield Research for Hilton Garden Inn.
So let’s tackle that, shall we.
My #1 Work-Life Balance Tip
My best tip for balancing it all and staying happy as a busy working woman is being extremely disciplined with my morning time. I highly recommend making a morning ritual.
The biggest mistake that I see made over and over is waking up and checking email. I know I did this too. It really ruined my entire day especially when I worked with people on the east coast who had been sending work emails for hours. No one should have to wake up like that!
Now my morning routine consists of journaling, meditating, listening to affirmations, reviewing my vision board and goals, reading, praying, and exercising. This has completely changed my life and my outlook on the day ahead.
Now when my official day starts, I have already cleared my mind, learned something and written down all the thoughts that needed to get out of my head. I have realized that I automatically wake up stressed so meditating and doing really deep breathing for 5 minutes gives me a completely different start to the day.
I wish I knew this five years ago. It really would have made me a lot happier of a person while working 2 day jobs and growing a business on the side!
